What is Sitting Volleyball?
We have recently introduced a sitting volleyball team into our offer. We are a welcoming and inclusive club, who are committed to growing the sport in Nottingham.
Watch the Notts TV interview below, where one of our team members, Adam, talks about his own experience, our club and the impact this amazing sport can have on individuals’ lives!
Sitting volleyball is a fast paced sport which is skilful and exciting. The sport is very inclusive at club level as the teams can be mixed gender and have both disabled and non-disabled people on court at the same time. It’s a sport played all the way up to Paralympic level and to learn more about the sport, watch the Paralympics Sitting Volleyball video.
Sitting volleyball could be the sport for you if:
- You would like to learn a new sport in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
- You enjoy being part of a team and would like to meet new people.
- You are looking to increase your physical health, particularly your core and upper body strength.
- You are a standing volleyball player who has an injury or is looking to improve your ball handling skills.
- You have a disability or long term health condition. Click this link to learn how sitting volleyball has helped one of our players return to sport after acquiring a disability.
Nottingham Sitting Volleyball Training Schedule
The club train regularly during the indoor season and compete in the Sitting Volleyball Grand Prix – the national sitting volleyball competition in England. We also have regular team socials throughout the year too!
We cater for, and welcome, people of all ages and abilities. If you would like to get involved or find out more, please contact us.
Oh, and just in case you are wondering about our name – many years ago the club started at the QMC hospital, hence the name “Casualties”.
